At MGM Hospital Vashi our Emergency medical services department provides quality emergency care with optimal outcomes. The Department functions as a ‘hospital within a hospital’, with all resources located in the same complex. They include laboratory, imaging, negative pressure isolation room, procedure room and an operation theatre to cater to all emergency conditions round the clock taken care of by a highly trained team.

We believe in evidence based, protocolized approach as per international standards. The protocols that are followed in cases of Acute Chest Pain and Stroke, are in line and often better, when benchmarked to International Clinical Care Pathways.

When should I go to the Accident & Emergency Department (A & E)?

You should only come to the emergency department for the following reasons:

  • Any unexplained medical emergency
  • An injury that you believe requires urgent surgical attention or an x-ray/ CT Scan.
  • Sudden chest pain.
  • Breathing difficulty.
  • Severe pain anywhere in your body.

Who will treat me in the Emergency Department?
The Accident & Emergency Department (A&E) team consists of emergency physicians and nurses who are specially trained to handle all types of medical emergencies.
How are patient’s medical needs determined?
To help us assess your medical situation, one of our medical staff will ask you the reason for your visit and check your vital signs, including temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. They will also question you about allergies and medications you are currently taking, and the dosage of these. You will also be asked about your past medical and surgical history, as well as that of your family. These are important questions that might indicate a risk of problem areas.
