Profile: Dr. Tanveer Abdul Majeed a fully trained Cancer Surgeon with vast experience in Surgical Oncology, Gastrointestinal, Hepato Pancreatico Biliary, Thoracic, Breast, Head & Neck and Gynaec Oncology. Dr. Tanveer Majeed has done his medical graduation [M.B.B.S] from Karnataka University Dharwad in the year 1993 and post graduation in General Surgery [M.S ā Gen Surgery] from Mumbai University in the year 2000.
Subsequently in the year 2005, he pursued and successfully completed 3-year Residency training programme in Surgical Oncology as Senior Registrar (I, II, III) followed by 6-month Specialist Registrar in the Thoracic Oncology and 4 month Fellowship in Breast Oncology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital Parel, Mumbai. Further to quench his thirst for Thoracic Surgery he went on to pursue One year training in Thoracic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Asian Institute of Oncology Fortis Raheja Hospital in Mumbai. Subsequently he went to Singapore and successfully completed fellowship in Hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery and Liver Transplantation under Prof K. C. Tan at the Asian Centre for Liver Disease & Transplantation (Singapore). On his return to India, he joined Mahavir Cancer Sansthan – a leading tertiary Cancer centre of Eastern India located in Patna where he underwent three years Superspeciality training leading to award of the degree of Diplomate National Board [D.N.B. Surgical Oncology].
He is co-author of chapters in Textbook titled Practical Clinical Oncology and has quite a few National & International publications to his credit. His areas of interest include Gastrointestinal Oncology, Hepato Ppancreatico Biliary, Thoracic Oncology although he has been trained extensively and can perform operations efficiently for Breast Cancer, Head Neck Cancer and Gynecological Cancers. He is currently Honorary Treasurer of Indian Society of Oncology and also Member of Editorial Board of BLDE University Journal. He is trained in Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), Robotic Cancer Surgery and Minimally Invasive Cancer Surgery.
