<p>Dr. Prashantha S Rao is a Consultant Liver Transplant & Hepato-Biliary Surgeon . He is available in the hospital OPD between 04:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.</p> <p> </p> <p>Dr. Prashantha S Rao has completed his M.B.B.S. from Delhi University, in the year 2002. He did his postgraduate training in M.S. (General Surgery) in the Year 2006 from Delhi University. </p> <p> </p> <p>Having completed his surgical training there he continued to work and gain surgical experience at MAX Balaji Superspeciality Hospitals, in New Delhi.</p> <p>He subsequently decided to further his training in the highly demanding field of Surgical Gastroenterology & HPB oncology. He completed his superspeciality training in Surgical Gastroenterology from Sir Gang Ram Hospital. After this he did 1 more year of dedicated fellowship in Liver Transplantation at Sir Gang Ram Hospital which is one the foremost centers for Living Donor Liver Transplant in India.</p> <p>Then he moved to Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, where as a part of the Liver Transplant Team from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai he developed the Liver Transplant program in 2011. He was a Consultant in Surgical Gastroenterology, GI & HPB Oncology & Liver Transplantation, Apollo Health City, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, India from 2012 to 2016.</p> <p>He later joined Global Gleneagles Hospital as Consultant in Liver transplant and HPB surgery, which is a center of excellence where both Cadaver donor & Living related donor Liver Transplants are performed for patients with chronic liver disease or acute liver failure. Additionally he also performs complex surgical resections for liver, gall bladder & pancreatic cancer and surgeries for portal hypertension.</p>
